This map uses big data from the GDELT Project which monitors local media around the world and live-translates it from 65 languages, along with Google’s BigQuery and Carto mapping software to visualize potential locations of persecution of Christians around the world. Each dot represents a location of the event (or the mention of it in the media) as well as the tone of the article mentioning “persecution” and “Christians.” Each dot provides detailed information about the event and a link to the online news article.
