About Brian Garland

Brian Garland was born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina, U.S.A., but has spent most of his life outside of the American Southeast. For 15 years, he has lived in cities around Asia as an ethnomusicologist and has worked with speakers of more than 70 languages in music revitalization. His two Indian cat-daughters have lived in three countries so far and hopefully will make it to their fourth in 2021.

About 40 Christian practitioners and leaders representing a variety of organizations serving refugees, internally displaced peoples, and asylum seekers gathered in one of the most diverse square miles in the continental U.S. April 9th to discuss growing trends in refugees living in cities and how to assist them in whatever stage on the refugee highway they are experiencing.
